Updated 3 June 2020

Please scroll down for previous notices.

Dear Harbour Mooring Holders and Visitors,

The new guidance released by the Welsh Government on Friday 29th May is now making it possible for local residents to participate in water activities, from 1 June. Please see the links below:

Guidance on Changes to Coronavirus Regulation from 1 June

Changes to Regulations - Frequently Asked Questions

Therefore, Saundersfoot Harbour, as of Friday 5 June, will be permitting recreational boat owners to access the Harbour slipway (subject to tide and staff availability), as part of their local daily exercise and recreation within the 5-mile radius of their primary home.

Please be aware that slipway operational times and number of vessels permitted on the slipway at any one time will be extremely limited, therefore would advise that you contact the Harbour Master prior to travelling down to the Harbour, preferably on the morning you wish to use the slipway.

Please familiarise yourself with the new Harbour COVID 19 slipway operational procedures here before travelling to the Harbour, and please can you ensure that you have the correct change at hand (£12) as no change will be available.

Mooring Holders will be able to access the Harbour from Wednesday 3 June for launching purposes and to install their Trott mooring subject to confirmation from the Harbour Master, please email him on: harbourmaster@saundersfootharbour.co.uk.

I’m hopeful that centre moorings may commence after 18 June, however, please contact the Harbour Master via the email above if you have any further questions with regards to your mooring.

Please be aware that we are operating the Harbour on limited staff resource, therefore will not have the ability to assist in launch or recovery of vessels or install mooring lines, and please note that the public toilets will remain closed until further notice.

The car park is open as usual, however, please note that this is a pay and display car park and all users regardless of the length of stay must purchase a valid pay and display ticket form the ticket machines which operate a coin and contactless system.

We will be reviewing the above conditions again on 18 June in line with Welsh Government's next scheduled update, which I’m hoping will see a further lifting of restrictions in line with England.

If Welsh Government make any further announcement before this date, we will review the above conditions accordingly and post notifications on our website, however, please be aware this may also include the removal of vessels with limited notice if we have further lockdown restrictions, therefore we would be grateful if mooring holders consider this before placing their vessels on their mooring.

I would like to thank all who sent their message of support and understanding.

Regards,
Michael Davies
Chief Executive Officer

Update 13/05/2020

Dear Harbour mooring holders and visitors,

I hope you are all keeping safe and busy during these unprecedented times.

As I’m sure you are all aware Welsh Government have taken a more cautious approach to the relaxation of public movement and activities from their counterpart’s in England therefore for the moment, leisure vessel will not able to launch or return to their allocated mooring.

However it is hoped that possible we may see a return to normality in June all be it with social distancing in place to protect yourselves and the Harbour Team, and we will endeavour to get your boat afloat as soon as practically possible.

I and the Harbour Master area happy to discuss any particular boating issue or concern relating to the Harbour by phone or email

Update 07/04/2020

Saundersfoot Harbour Commissioners has suspended Car parking Charges for NHS, Health and Social care workers

Saundersfoot Harbour from the 6th of April has waived charges in its car parks for NHS, health and social care workers.

A zone has been cordoned off directly to the right as you enter into the Harbour car park (denoted with red barriers and signage) as a short stay parking for care workers who are accessing essential food and medical supplies.

This support to the local critical care workers will remain in place during the current lockdown period.

We would kindly ask that all critical care workers who make use of this free service please display supporting evidence in their windscreen, such as photocopies of their work pass - with any sensitive information removed - or a letter of evidence from their employer as their parking permit.
